During the beginning of the iPhone Apps area a lot of multi-protocol messengers came out. They allowed the users to use one application to chat via MSN, ICQ, Jabber and others. For most of these clients a new account had to be created – the service provider would then store the username/password of the IM services.
So far, so good.
Now, after testing some different applications for a while, I decided I don’t need some of them so I removed the applications from the iPhone. But the Websites still have an account which stores all my MSN, ICQ, … passwords, right?
For most providers it was not a big deal to remove or delete the account – the “hardest” was to write a mail to the support to get a hidden URL where I could request removal.
Not so for eBuddy. They simply don’t offer any way to remove an account. Yes, I can remove all IM service accounts from the eBuddy-account, but I cannot remove the eBuddy account itself. I also tried sending various mails to feedback@ebuddy.com, pr@ebuddy.com or privacy@ebuddy.com – all unanswered, even after several reminders.
So I can only recommend to think twice before creating an account with eBuddy – there is no way to opt out and it seems there there is no support at all!
This has go to be the worse program to use for chatting. I also tried to remove ebuddy but cannot find any option to do so. What a piece of crap program.

I have now wasted 15 minutes on the crappy ebuddy site looking for a way to delete my ebuddy account, but to no avail. isn’t that against some kind of law? thanks for the heads up, i would have spent an entire hour trying to delete my account.
FYI, personally meebo is a better alternative to ebuddy. it has a better interface!
you need to login on there website and from there you can easily delete account.

I just tried to do that – I did not find any function to remove my eBuddy ID… Yes, accounts themselves can be removed, but not the eBuddy ID itself.
I really got mad by eBuddy. I have only tried it once last month and no more. But yesterday I found that it sent a SPAM message on my behalf to all people on my contact list telling them to use eBuddy, and also put an unerasable message under my name “-on eBuddy Mobile”. How can I solve this problem? I want to remove my connection with eBuddy and also remove that “-on eBuddy Mobile” from my account description.

I am also trying to delete ebuddy I saw bins against my accounts and it said delete which I did. I log in again and still comes up as EBuddy is there anybody who can come up with a genuine tested way of deleting

Ebuddy is a crap i faced same problem mostly all above have the same one …. the only solution for this is changed your accounts password so that ebuddy cannot access it anymore and if your having ebuddy for some social networking site for eg: Facebook.. then there is an option to block access ebuddy just report to facebook team .

You can revoke access to ebuddy from all your accounts.
go to Facebook-> account settings -> apps : Remove ebuddy.
same for Google account in account settings.
I tried to delete the ebuddy account, but failed. So I did this.
Now when I checked ebuddy, it asked me to login again to all the connected accounts. Also no status message as “On Ebuddy”.
my ebuddy is never ever logging out!!!! i tried to change all my account passwords but still , it says as log in and showing me as online for 24 hours!!! arghhhh i really hate it. i also emailed them but got no reply at all!! what is this? they should get sued for like this kind of action! i tried deleting the App from my iphone but still doesnt work. when i log in the messages were just piled up! this is just a piece of crap shit! And the worst part is, they actually give you the option of deleting your account… I had no idea the account can’t be deleted… And I agree, the program is a piece of crap!

Currently there is no way to delete your eBuddyID. What you can do however is to remove all IM accounts from your eBuddyID by going to the account management screen and deleting them. This will mean we will no longer store any account details and therefore you are, apart from the eBuddyID removed from our systems.

“eBuddy reserves the right to cancel user accounts that have been inactive for an extended period of time.
You are entitled to terminate the agreement between you and eBuddy at any time by discontinuing the use of the Service and/or to terminate your eBuddy ID.
Upon termination of the agreement between you and eBuddy for any reason all licenses and rights to use the Service shall terminate and you will cease any and all use of the Service.”
So I guess there is a way. Just ignore eBuddy and it will cancel by it self.
